Ohio Gov. DeWine makes Sunday ‘Day of Prayer’ for President Trump, first lady amid COVID-19 diagnoses

Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted have issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, Oct. 4 a ‘Day of Prayer’ for President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who both recently tested positive for the COVID-19.

DeWine said in the order that Ohioans have “long turned to prayer during difficult and trying times as a source of strength and comfort.” He also said the special day was aimed at all those suffering from or impacted by the disease.

According to the Ohio Department of Health’s latest update on Saturday, there are more than 148,000 confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 4,600 related deaths in the state.

World leaders expressed their hope for a swift recovery for President Donald Trump after he announced that he and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19 overnight.

The president was taken to Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday evening, though officials called it just a precaution. One of Trump’s closest advisers, Hope Hicks, had tested positive the day before Trump.

(Bloomberg) — President Donald Trump announced early Friday that he and First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for Covid-19, shortly after one of his closest aides, Hope Hicks, had fallen ill with the coronavirus.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” the president said on Twitter.

Oct. 1 (UPI) — President Donald Trump said Thursday night that he and first lady Melania Trump will quarantine after top aide Hope Hicks tested positive for the virus.

Trump tweeted that he and first lady Melania Trump are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test and will begin a quarantine process in the meantime.
